I’ll be participating in Gowanus Open Studios again this year and offering FREE 17-century-style photographic headshots. My studio doors open at 12pm, Sunday, October 19th. FREE photo headshots will be available that day from 12—4pm. Doors remain open til 6pm. Be advised!: GOS 2025 kicks off on Saturday, October 18th, but my studio will ONLY be open on Sunday, October 19th, from 12—6pm. Directions to my studio are below. I hope to see you there!

When I set out to paint an oil or charcoal portrait, photographic references can be a helpful tool for capturing composition, color and likeness. Check out some of last year’s participants’ headshots in the slideshow below.

I’m also eager to share some of my latest paintings, drawings and works in progress with you. Gowanus Open Studios is a great chance to catch up, see my latest projects and scoop up unique pieces from my archive at special prices.

A note about location:

My studio (3901) is on the 2nd floor of TI Art Studios: 183 Lorraine St, Brooklyn, NY 11231. TI Art Studios is always a big draw for GOS visitors, but the less trafficked 2nd floor is located on the opposite side of the building from the more populated 3rd floor. On the day of the event, please find signs/maps/flyers indicating the second floor, my name (Chris Eastland) and my studio (3901). If you are having trouble finding me, please call me at 917.378.5890. I’ll try to help direct you as best I can!
